You’re not going to believe this. According to recently released data by the state of Florida, traffic tickets are up 35% since 2020 in just 3 short years. An extra 700,000 tickets were written across all Florida Counties in 2023. Since COVID, traffic tickets have been recovering year over year and hitting Florida drivers in their pockets.
About half of the state’s 2.7 million tickets last year were issued in a small handful of counties. Miami leads the way with over 639k citations followed by Orange County with 236k , then Broward county then Palm Beach.
Florida’s DUI enforcement hot spots are Hillsborough and Pinellas county for another consecutive year. The Tampa Bay area accounted for 7995 DUI arrests compared to Miami’s 1904.
